Dementia Actif Gwynedd won the 'Community Safety Partner' award

It was a privilege to be honoured at North Wales Fire and Rescue Service's awards ceremony last week.

Dementia Actif Gwynedd won the 'Community Safety Partner' award:-

"Dementia Actif Gwynedd has made an outstanding contribution to our prevention and fire safety work over the past year. Their dedication, collaboration, and community reach have helped us make a real difference in the lives of people across North Wales.

At both of our Dementia Walk events, they not only attended and supported the days themselves but also played a key role in promoting them. Thanks to their efforts, these events reached more people and had a greater impact, raising vital awareness about safety and wellbeing for those living with dementia and for their carers.

Beyond public events, Dementia Actif Gwynedd also supported us in organising focus groups in rural areas—often the most difficult communities to reach. The insights gathered from these sessions proved invaluable. They were reflected in our Community Risk Management Plan and gave us a much clearer understanding of the challenges and risks faced by older people and those living with dementia."
